Let me go
I don't wanna be your hero
I don't wanna be a big man
Just wanna fight with everyone else
Your masquerade
I don't wanna be a part of your parade
Everyone deserves a chance to
Walk with everyone else
While holding down
A job to keep my girl around
And maybe buy me some new strings
And her a night out on the weekends
And we can whisper things
Secrets from our American dreams
Baby needs some protection
But I'm a kid like everyone else
I don't wanna be your hero
I don't wanna be a big man
Just wanna fight with everyone else
Your masquerade
I don't wanna be a part of your parade
Everyone deserves a chance to
Walk with everyone else
While holding down
A job to keep my girl around
And maybe buy me some new strings
And her a night out on the weekends
And we can whisper things
Secrets from our American dreams
Baby needs some protection
But I'm a kid like everyone else

It is true that everyone deserves a chance to walk with everyone else, for all people to be equal. Although that is a dream of many, if it is possible I think it is all about circumstances. Those stories about Rags to Riches are few and far between, mostly because many of those people have gone from poverty to multimillionaires, which isn't all that common. Another big element of those stories is luck, being in the right place at the right time, take winning the lottery as an example. Also, another aspect equality is that each person has a different idea of what “equal” is, some could define being equal an being not in poverty, whereas others could see it as everyone being millionaires. The way I think of it is that its all relative. If someone tries hard enough almost anything is possible, some may just have to try harder than others.
